CES 2015 EXPECTATIONS | MODERN LIVING

Consumer Electronics Show 2015, yeah, its again time to present new tech innovation for the progress with ultra sci fi gadgetry, innovations, ideas for the year of 2015. That's so cool of 2014, now what are the next techs after bending, ultra TV's, sleek extra smart phones etc. Lets have a surprise look for the same.

VISUAL | SCREENS

Like CES itself, TVs are big, flashy, and full of crazy fads that seem to come and go overnight. But there’s no bigger trend in displays right now than 4K resolution. Whether we’re ready for it or not, expect 4K resolution to show up in a big way at CES 2015, meaning more manufacturers getting onboard with more affordable pricing.
As we saw earlier this year, Vizio announced and ultimately made good on asub-$1000 USD UltraHD display with its entry level P-Series 50” unit. And though the company already stated that Vizio won't be appearing at CES 2015, be on the lookout for major-brand competitors making up the difference with affordable models.
CES 2015 is likely to be the place where the 4K set goes mainstream and becomes part of the mid-range market, rather than the high-end niche.
Having said that, what’s the point of having an UltraHD TV without the programming to support it? While we’re not likely to see any commitments from traditional broadcasting, expect more options for internet streaming to support the resolution. Amazon Prime Instant Video 4K streaming was recently announced, and we’ve known Netflix’s plan to support the 4K standard for some time, but expect more applications and alternative viewing methods to jump aboard. In other words, more 4K content coming to fill up all those pixels.
We probably won’t see too much on the OLED front with respect to affordability and mainstream appeal, which is a shame, but LG will be displaying its new TV line sporting “quantum dot” technology -- tiny light-emitting nanocrystal semiconductors. And like the last few years of CES, smart TVs with built-in app support and connectivity will be everywhere. You might also spot an 8K resolution monstrosity or two for you to look at but probably never, ever touch.

GAMING

Gaming at CES is always a crapshoot. The gaming space has its own yearly events where companies tend to make their reveals, so CES doesn't usually pull the big announcements out of Sony, Microsoft, or mega publishers.
But CES 2014 was awash in the gaming-related goods as Valve finally revealed a staggering number of models for its long-rumored Steam Machines. A few short months after revealing the hardware, Valve announced it would delay the release of the Steam Machine until 2015 to work on the Steam Controller.
Unfortunately we've already heard that Valve won't be making an appearance at CES 2015, choosing instead to tackle the topic of Steam Machines at the Game Developer's Conference in March. But, that doesn't necessarily mean we might not still see some of the devices on the show floor from third-party manufacturers. We're also likely to see the continued generational advancements in PC tech, since CES is routinely stacked with hardware. As is the case every year, stuff will get smaller, faster, and cheaper. We'll also likely see a slew of console peripherals.

VIRTUAL REALITY

The other big not-inherently-gaming-related-but-totally-gaming-related trend at CES 2014 was the rise of virtual reality, and this year it's going to bigger than ever. Expect to see more content demonstrations on the Oculus Rift, alongside a probable announcement from Oculus that could be details on a consumer Rift unit.
We'll also likely catch an appearance from Sony's Project Morpheus, which is coming along nicely and is expected to be delivered as a retail unit some time in 2015. Hopefully, we'll get details for a commercial launch as well.
Then there's Microsoft's VR headset, which we know is still currently being developed, so it's unlikely we'll see anything so soon, or unveiled at CES anyway. But Samsung's already on-sale Gear VR will likely have a presence, alongside several smaller companies debuting tech, so you can rest assured CES 2015 will be full of devices clamoring for your virtual attention.

WEARABLES

If you've ever personally wanted a smartphone in watch form, or to monitor your heart rate with a stylish bracelet, the market is ready to sell you one. Wearable technology finally burst on to the scene noticeably in 2014, but expect it to be even more prominent in 2015.
Of course Apple's Apple Watch is the big one to, well, watch in early 2015. But given Apple and Google's history of forgoing CES, the big names in wearable tech will mostly drive the direction of the competition at the show, rather than display their own products.
Instead, watch for the wide-open market of brands—Pebble, Fitbit, Jawbone, Misfit, Garmin, etc.—to compete alongside Android Wear (smart wearables powered by Android) for ownership of the wrist.
LG, Samsung, Motorola, Asus, and Lenovo all have or will be debuting smart watches with a variety of functions. Look for potential upgrades to style and form, with an emphasis of supporting more function than ever. CES 2015 will mark the start of the push for bigger, more diverse content libraries on wearable devices.
Additionally, while the face is a space dominated right now by Google Glass, there's no shortage of competitors looking to make a name in augmented reality. Look for the glasses market, especially from Sony's SmartEyeglass, and other "attachable" devices to make a strong showing at CES 2015.

SMARTPHONES | TABS | COMPUTING

It wouldn't be CES without a heavy representation in the smartphone and tablet department. However, market leaders like Apple and Samsung usually host their own events to reveal their cutting edge advancements in mobile tech. While that's certainly true of the former, rumors are swirling we might actually be in for Samsung's reveal of the Galaxy S6, and maybe even a new Galaxy tablet.
This leaves CES dominated by manufacturers looking to increase their share of the market, and with that comes possibilities for surprises. We could see Sony's Xperia Z4, LG's next G Flex, something from Huawei coming stateside, and HTC's next big device handheld. We could even see Microsoft break its usual absence from CES to show off new Lumia devices. Of course, with Mobile World Congress a mere month after CES, it's very possible we won't see anything until February.
